Wise Dog

I'm not sure why
they say
that the dog

is man's best friend,
or visa versa.
Is it because

men don't
have any other friends,
or is it

just that they're
so darn smart?
I envy my dogs

sleeping
all day, and also
how their ambition

is limited to chasing
rabbits
around the yard.

What would
I have to do to be
reincarnated into a dog?

Perhaps something really dumb
like selling Mary Kay
door-to-door for twenty years.
